I need to use a pliers to pry this piece off the axel under the tub. Notice the three sheared plastic pins that are missing. Posted by Hello

I've replaced that particular part twice on our washer in the last 5 years... The repair went a lot faster the second time, because the first time I turned the washer upside down to try to figure out what was going on and all the oil from the gearbox leaked out. Well, maybe not all, but enough that it started smalling pretty hot once it started running again. So take it back apart, add more oil, put it back together. It was still pretty satisfying, because we weren't sure if a new washer would be needed, and a $15 part as compared to a new washer was a pleasent surprise. The second time, no problem.

The dryer belt is pretty easy to replace too... I did that one this spring.

Can you tell we've washed a lot of diapers at our house?
